The Edinburgh Buddhist Centre (FWBO Edinburgh) is a Non-profit Scottish charity (SC 017 133) based in Edinburgh. We have been in town for nearly thirty years renting different venues and places however recently we have brought our own place where we have a beautiful shrine room, office and a bookshop.
We also make the shrine space available for Room Hire to individuals, practioners and groups for different therapies and healing.
We offer various courses, day events and classes to help you develop and teach meditation, kindly awareness and wisdom through a regular programme.
Hundreds of people have come through our doors – some for a single meditation course to pick up some hints on stress and relaxation and some with bigger questions who stay for longer, finding our approach to the Buddha’s teachings useful in their search.
We practice and support the Sangha (spiritual community) to follow Buddha’s teachings in ways appropriate to how we live our lives today in a modern world. The FWBO is run by members of the Western Buddhist Order (WBO) - men and women who have committed themselves to a Buddhist life.
