I have been practising mindfulness and loving kindness meditations for more than ten years. I stumbled across the FWBO Buddhist tradition in my late 20s. Wanting to learn meditation in two days flat and thinking the Buddhist setting would be ‘harmless’ went to an FWBO beginners meditation weekend in Surrey (Rivendell Retreat Centre) and got unexpectedly hooked by the Buddha’s teachings - and unexpectedly happy to have found a point to life other than hedonism.

In 2006, after 18 months living in a remote New Zealand town, I returned to busy Edinburgh and the contrast and effect on her wellbeing motivated her to become a Breathworks trainer to teach meditation for stress and pain management. I enjoy teaching and practising effective, creative and calming ways to live well with stress and the city.
