Vajrahridaya

Hello, I’m Vajrahridaya (Dr.Avinash Bansode).
Originally from India I have been in Britain for last six years. I work full time at the Edinburgh Buddhist Centre as a Director.  I was trained as a Medical GP in India. Currently, I’m doing my Masters in ‘Mindfulness Based Approaches’ at the Bangor University in Wales.

I have been involved with FWBO/TBMSG for last fourteen years and was ordained in 2003 as Vajrahridaya, (Vajra-Hridaya) which means ‘Diamond-Heart’ symbolising the qualities I am aspiring towards (wonder how many lifetimes it’ll take ..?).

Iam very passionate about teaching and practicing Mindfulness. I often feel inspired and moved by sharing Meditation and Dhamma practises. Buddha’s Dhamma has not only transformed my life but has also  changed lives of many , especially millions of Dalits in India and it is due to this very fact that i have offered my life to serve the Dharma.

I take great intrest in cooking, listening to music, especially Sufi music and reading inspiring poems.
