I began training as a counsellor in 1995 and have been practising for over 8 years both privately and within the voluntary sector. I have been practising Buddhist meditation for several years and moreover I very much enjoy the dialogue between the Eastern & Western approaches to health and wellbeing, and this is what informs and inspires my own approach to psychotherapy.
Hold an Advanced Diploma in Counselling, PG Cert. in Mindfulness Based Aproaches, a member of BACP & COSCA and abide by their ethical codes of practise. I have a Cert. in Training Practise and teach the COSCA Skills in Counselling with Jewel & Esk Valley College. Recently I have been engaged with the Mindfulness studies run by Bangor University.
I invite clients to bring their dreams into the therapy sessions as they often yield up much information for the client. I recently offered a `dreams day` at the EBC and this was appreciated by myself and participants. There will be more of these days coming up in the future.
I have co-run the 8 week course in Mindfulness with Vajrahridaya and have a group starting up on 31st August in my therapy room in Roslin. These courses will run throughout the year.
“We will not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time”
