Nonviolent Communication Group

We meet on the third Saturday of every month from 2-4pm
2008 dates to be announced.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is sometimes referred to as compassionate communication. Its purpose is to strengthen our ability to inspire compassion from others and to respond compassionately to others and to ourselves. It guides us to reframe how we express ourselves and hear others by focusing our consciousness on what we are observing, feeling, needing, and requesting. We learn to hear our own deeper needs and those of others, and to identify and clearly articulate what we are wanting in a given moment. The form is simple, yet powerfully transformative. This amazing process has interest from the EBC Sangha and this page will be the home. See The Centre for Nonviolent Communication for more information.

Even if you are not affiliated with Buddhism or EBC, but you have done a short foundation course on NVC the group would like to hear from you. Please contact the centre on how to do a foundation course or learn more.

Recent news:

Group member Claralynn Nunamaker has decided to become an NVC trainer. At a recent meeting we initiated a ‘buddy scheme’ so that we can practise in between our monthly meetings and get to know one another better.
