Fringe Programme Meditation Courses (scroll further down for Buddhism) You don’t need to be a Buddhist to attend these courses. Mind, Compassionate Heart Creating a Stress-Free Life One-day introductions to meditation On Saturday or Sunday from 10.30am to 4.30pm Price: £25/£18 concessions Course Dates: 3 August, Sunday 14 September, Saturday 11 October, Sunday 23 November and Saturday 6 December Start de-stressing by learning to be more aware of your body, your feelings and your thoughts, and to live more fully in the present moment. Please bring a vegetarian packed lunch; tea and coffee are provided. You don’t need to be a Buddhist to attend these courses. Meditation is for everyone. These courses include an introduction to meditation. In our fundamental nature we are altruistic beings. The figure of the Bodhisattva shows how we may express this in relation to others, the world, and ourselves. Price: £25/£18 concessions Course date: Sunday 19 Oct 11am- 4pm Please bring a vegetarian packed lunch; tea and coffee are provided. Every Tuesday, Sangha Night! If you have done one of our introductory courses or have experience of the mindfulness of breathing or metta bhavana meditation, please be welcome at our Tuesday class. See Sangha page for more details. We usually call this "Sangha Night." HOW TO BOOK To secure your place on any course please send a cheque (or postal order) for the full amount (made payable to FWBO Edinburgh). £10 of this is non-refundable if you are not able to attend for any reason. If you cancel within two weeks of the course start date we will refund 50 per cent of the course fee. Alternatively you can transfer your booking and payment at no extra cost to a future course. Pricing: Edinburgh Buddhist Centre is a non-profit making organisation (Scottish charity SC 017133) and our charges are designed to cover our running costs. Concessions are for students, the unemployed (inc Income Support or DLA for the sick) and OAPs. HOW TO GET HERE - click here for map Walking: 5 minutes from South Clerk Street (Newington), turn into Hope Park Terrace, which becomes Melville Drive. Melville Terrace is parallel to Melville Drive. 10 minutes from Tollcross, along Brougham Place, which becomes Melville Drive. Buses from city centre (to Newington from Princes Street eastbound): 3, 30, 31, 33, 37, 41 (41 stops in Melville Drive); (to Tollcross from Princes Street westbound): 11, 15, 16 Parking on Melville Drive after 18.30; some on Melville Terrace after 17.30.
