Sangha Night - The Regular's Class

Sangha night is the heart of EBC's week. At 7.15pm (for 7.30pm start), people who have been to at least a beginner's class or course are welcome to join the Sangha night. Meditation is always part of the evening and is often but not always, unguided. Meditation sessions last for around 30-40 minutes. After meditation, there is sometimes group discussion, a talk, workshop or even just a long tea break when people are encouraged to catch up with each other.

All nights begin at 7.15pm unless otherwise stated - please see programme below.

Friday Nights at E.B.C.
"Dharma in everyday Life".
7.30pm

This will resume on Friday, 5th September, after the summer break.

These informal evenings provide an opportunity to meet and share your practice, reflections, frustrations difficulties and successes in the context of everyday living. Living Dharma. Importantly, it is an opportunity to speak from the heart, but it is also a chance to clear up confusions or frustrations by sharing and benefiting from other's experience and viewpoints.

Please aim to arrive by 7.30, starting with a cup of tea downstairs. We usually start the evening off with a short open meditation before starting our sharing / discussion. No set finishing time - we just "go with the flow", finishing with another cuppa (if you want). Usually, a "theme" is announced during the week for the discussion, or announced the previous week, but nothing is set in concrete. Open to attendees of all Buddhist Sanghas.

(Please note that the group meets every Friday "unless you read / hear otherwise". It may not be possible to update this website at short notice, so any changes should be announced on Tuesday nights. But, if you don't attend Tuesdays, or are intending to come along for the first time, please 'phone or email the Centre (a note will be added to the Centre's diary). At your first visit, you can be added to the group's e.mail list (if agreeable) or we could take a contact number. An email is sent out during the week detailing any chosen theme, or change in circumstances (which is rare).
